Favo Coffee, London
Architectural drawings for advertisement consent at 259 Old Brompton Road, supporting a new coffee shop with halo-illuminated signage, cassette awning, and bespoke flag signs.

The Project
Favo Coffee is a new coffee shop operating at 259 Old Brompton Road, London SW5 9HP, occupying a prominent corner unit at the junction of Old Brompton Road and Coleherne Road in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
The business required advertisement consent for new external signage and branding elements to establish their presence on this busy stretch of Old Brompton Road. Planning Pros were instructed to prepare the full set of architectural drawings to support the advertisement consent application.
The Proposal
The advertisement consent application comprised five key signage and branding elements:
1. 3D Halo-Illuminated Sign
Located above the main entrance, measuring 2200mm x 750mm. 3D built-up letters with halo illumination for maximum visibility day and night. Fabricated from white matte aluminium composite panel (ACP) with 5cm returns, UV-printed finish, and high-quality energy-efficient LED modules. Includes 2x 42mm spotlights under the return lip, installed flush to the wall.
2. Bespoke Double-Sided Flag Signs (x2)
Two wall-mounted projecting flag signs with heavy-duty bespoke metal brackets. UV-printed on Foamex/Aluminium Composite on both sides for weather resistance, positioned at agreed facade locations for maximum pedestrian visibility. Each sign measures 300mm height x 1000mm with warm light halo lettering.
3. Full Cassette Awning with LED Arms
A 4100mm x 2000mm full cassette awning system with a white frame and high-quality brown fabric. Features integrated LED arms for evening ambience and visibility, plus a shake sensor for automatic retraction in wind.
4. Aluminium Composite Fascia Panels
ACP panels with UV print to cover remaining fascia areas not occupied by the awning or signage. Weather-resistant, vibrant finish matching the Favo Coffee brand identity.
5. Stainless Steel A-Board
Rose gold finished stainless steel advertising A-board measuring55cm width x 90cm height x 53cm maximum opening depth, with Favo Coffee branding.
Our Role
Planning Pros prepared the complete set of architectural drawings for the advertisement consent application, including:
- Proposed North and West Elevations (1:100)
- Shopfront Drawing with Sign & Awning Details
- Design Criteria & Proposal document with full specifications
- Block & Location Plans (1:1250 and 1:100)
- Floor Section drawing (1:50)
The drawings detailed the exact dimensions, materials, colours, installation methods, and positioning of each signage element across the North elevation (Old Brompton Road frontage) and West elevation (Coleherne Road frontage). The ground floor premises comprise a 56.92m² salon space with 3,888mm ceiling height and a 3.72m² toilet facility.
The Site
259 Old Brompton Road occupies a corner position at the junction with Coleherne Road in Earl's Court, within the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. The property is a Victorian brick building with the commercial unit at ground floor level. The surrounding area is characterised by a mix of independent shops, cafes, and restaurants along Old Brompton Road, with residential mansion blocks on the surrounding streets.
